The Yellow Room: Where Curious Minds Met at Urban MBA
London is not short of networking events. What it is shorter on is the other thing, the kind of evening where you walk in not knowing quite what to expect, and walk out having had conversations you did not anticipate with people you are genuinely glad you met. The Yellow Room, hosted by Yellow Man London at Urban MBA on Wednesday the 13th of May 2026, was exactly that kind of evening.
About the Event
Date: Wednesday, 13th May 2026 | Time: 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM | Venue: Urban MBA, 3 Wenlock Street, Shoreditch, London N1 7NT
The Yellow Room described itself as a gathering for curious minds and it meant it. No panels. No formal programme. No pitching. No business-card culture. Just a deliberately intimate group of around 40 people: creators, entrepreneurs, students, innovators, and open-minded individuals from different backgrounds, brought together for an evening of open conversation, idea exchange, and genuine human connection.
Event Recap
The colour set the tone from the moment people arrived. Yellow caps, yellow scarves, yellow trainers, yellow glasses and at the centre of it all, the host himself, Yellow Man London, in a full head-to-toe yellow ensemble. The atmosphere that greeted guests as they walked into Wenlock Street was warm, relaxed, and immediately different from the standard networking format the kind of room that signals early on that something a little unusual is about to happen.
The evening followed a light structure: arrival and settling in, a welcome introduction, and then conversation which is where the Yellow Room delivered its purpose most clearly. The intentional intimacy of the gathering made it work, there was no hiding in the crowd, no retreating to a phone, no standing on the periphery of a conversation too big to enter. People spoke to one another because the room was designed to make that the natural thing to do.

What was notable about the crowd was its range. The Yellow Room drew people from different fields and different stages of their journey, and that mix, combined with the absence of any formal agenda, produced the kind of conversations that more structured events tend to prevent. Ideas were exchanged freely. Connections were made without transactional pressure. The guiding spirit of the evening, curiosity required, ego optional, humanity welcome, was not simply a tagline on the event page; it genuinely described the room.
The group photo that closed the evening, taken in front of The Yellow Room branded backdrop, captured something real. A genuinely mixed group of people, most of them wearing at least a splash of yellow, looking like they had had a good evening because they had.

Urban MBA was a fitting home for The Yellow Room. A space built around the idea that people from all kinds of backgrounds deserve access to community, conversation, and the right room which is precisely what Yellow Man London set out to create.
About Yellow Man London
The Yellow Room is an experiment in creating a new kind of gathering in London, one built around openness, curiosity, and the simple but underrated value of being in the same room as interesting people. Hosted by Yellow Man London, the concept is guided by a single principle: that yellow represents optimism, warmth, creativity, and the kind of energy that makes a room feel alive.
