Ten of Urban MBA’s young entrepreneurs from current and previous cohorts had the opportunity to arrange and attend a large-scale PR event, in collaboration with Saymore PR. Sergio Tacchini, an Italian fashion brand where casual meets elegance and style, launched their new Spring/Summer 2019 collection on Thursday 22 November 2018 at Hackney House.

Being at the heart of the organisation of the PR event, Urban MBA worked alongside Russell Athletic, Jägermeister and Enefeld as a sponsor – making this event one of the biggest and most successful events Urban MBA has organised! Urban MBA worked in collaboration with Saymore PR to help organise the event, giving young people an insight into the world of PR events, networking and brand collaborations.

In supporting Saymore PR host the launch of the new Sergio Tacchini collection, the goal for Urban MBA was to:

  • allow young people to see how an event is created through PR
  • alleviate fears about networking and make them feel comfortable at large events, when they are away from their peer groups
  • supporting our young people to get hands on experience on organising and attending a PR event

Many young entrepreneurs do not have an understanding of how a PR event works, or have the opportunity to gain exposure to PR events. Roles in organising the event ranged from supporting the setup of the programme to viewing, securing and setting up the venue. This collaboration with Saymore PR was a new and great opportunity for our young entrepreneurs to come out of their comfort zone and experience being in an unfamiliar environment, which worked in gaining practical experience in this field.
