Vertopiaa Gaming Night
Vertopiaa Gaming Night: Race, Compete, Connect
Urban MBA was proud to partner with Vertopiaa for a gaming night that turned Wenlock Street into one of the most competitive, high-energy spaces it has ever been. From the moment the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe title screen lit up the big screen, it was clear this was going to be a special evening — and it did not disappoint.
About the Event
Venue: Urban MBA EdTech Hub, 3 Wenlock Street, Hoxton, London N1 7NT | Doors: 7:00 PM | End: 10:00 PM | Tickets: From £10 (welcome drink included)
The Vertopiaa Gaming Night brought together the resources of two community-driven organisations with a shared belief: that gaming is a genuine vehicle for connection, creativity, and community. Vertopiaa dedicated to creating impactful experiences through media, gaming, and education, chose Urban MBA’s EdTech Hub as the venue for this event, and the space rose to the occasion.

The evening was headlined by the Mario Kart Grand Prix, a 10-player Super Mario Bros free-for-all on the Mini Laptop Zone; and the Nintendo wii. Every ticket came with a complimentary welcome drink, with a bar and snacks available throughout.
Event Recap
The Mario Kart Grand Prix was the undisputed centrepiece. Attendees raced across multiple rounds on the big screen, with the results board drawing groans and celebrations in equal measure. The atmosphere around those races was something that only a genuinely competitive gaming event generates, the kind where spectators lean into the screen alongside the players, fully invested in every turn. At the podium ceremony, three attendees proudly held up their trophies as the final winners were announced.
Away from the main stage, the Nintendo Switch Zone kept energy levels high throughout the night. People browsed the game, Mario Kart, Mario Party Jamboree laid out side by side and the transitions between titles kept the evening feeling varied and fresh. The Wii Zone served up a wave of nostalgia that had people reaching for remotes they had not held in years.
What stood out across all of it was the atmosphere in the room. Groups of strangers arrived separately and left together; people who had come for the Mario Kart stayed and wandered into the Wii zone ended up drawing a small crowd. The space was used brilliantly, different zones, different energies, one consistently warm and buzzing room.

The Vertopiaa partnership was a natural fit for Urban MBA.
Two organisations using technology and creativity to bring communities together, sharing a space built to do exactly that.
